Skin care!

As many of you probably already know, I am obsessed with cosmetics and skin care!
When I was a child I had terrible acne. Thankfully, after trying a variety of different skincare routines and taking better care of it, my skin has improved a lot, but even now it is very red and sometimes incredibly oily or dry.
That being said, I would like to talk to you about some of the products and brands I love that are available in Japan!

And so, here is my skincare routine!
So the first thing I do every morning is Wash my face, and a product I recently started using and I Love is:

Channel’s La Mousse cleanser
Okay, this one is one of the more expensive ones on my list, and I’ve only been using it for 2 months but I am obsessed with it. It’s a creamy texture and it foams up easily and makes my skin feel so clean and luxurious after. Though it is expensive, the bottle is big and a small amount is enough to get the job done!

Aesop’s In two minds toner
After cleansing I move on to a toner. For the past year, I have been using Aesop for my toner and I love it. It smells so good! This particular product is best suited for “combination” skin, so if like me, your skin is sometimes dry, sometimes oily, then this is a good toner to go for. I did use the In two minds cleanser to accompany this, and though I like it a lot, the Channel product marginally beat it.

Lush’s Magical Moringa primer
Another one I use often is Magical Moringa. Though it is advertised as a primer to use before applying make up, I use it as a moisturizer in the morning. The reason I love this product is because I have oily skin sometimes and it mattifies and makes it feel super smooth. I have never seen a product like this before and I have continued to use it for about 3 years now.

The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
The ordinary is a brand I believe in. They are a luxury brand with cheap prices. The idea is that you build your own skin care routine using the ingredients you need for your skin type, Back in England I exclusively used it, but it can be troublesome as I need to order Online while in Japan. That being said, I still wholeheartedly recommend it.
This particular product is a moisturiser which I use on the days my skin is very dry. Alcohol free, oil free, silicone free, and cruelty free. I can feel it absorbing into my skin and doesn’t feel like a greasy layer on top.

Lush’s Catastrophe cosmetic
I try to use a facemask once a week, and Lush’s Catastrophe cosmetic works well for me as it is designed to calm angry and red skin. It smells so beautiful like berries and I can feel it soothing my skin. In just 10 minutes my skin feels beautiful and balanced. The only setback is that it needs to be kept refrigerated.

The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Okay, I admit that this one is scary. When I first used it, I was terrified. It is marketed as an at home chemical peel, but it’s not as scary as it sounds! It is an intense mask I use once a month in place of Catastrophe Cosmetic. The acid in the formula helps to balance the skin as well as getting rid of any dead skin cells. There is no actual peeling involved, but that being said, you should use it sparingly. Plus the product is a blood red colour, which makes it look even scarier!

Lush’s Avobath
Though bath bombs are not popular in Japan, Avobath is still one of my favourite products. It is a bath bomb that I use when i feel a little down or if i’m feeling like I am getting a cold as it opens up my airways and makes it easier to breathe when you have a blocked nose. Not only that, but the avocado and olive oil in the formula makes my skin feel super soft! Plus, it turns my bath water green and it makes me feel like a swamp monster. Who doesn’t want that

Niod’s SURVIVAL 30 sunscreen
Another one I have to buy online but this one is worth the effort for me. I have a mild sun allergy that causes my skin to blister when I’m exposed to too much sunlight, but this product really helps out! I don’t like placing normal sunscreen on my face as it is often greasy and clogs my pores, but this protects my skin from UV as well as gentle on my sensitive skin.

And that is that! Though my skincare routine is very high maintenance, my one piece of advice is Always wash your face with cold water after a shower or wash. Just doing this made a massive difference to my skin! But please tell me about what products you love the most! I am always open to trying new things!
