Sunday Funday

The best day of the week, Sunday. No work, no plans, just me and my bike. I’m not sure how many people head out to Kadoma/Neyagawa area but I highly recommend you check it out. I usually start my trek from Owada station(Not the nicest area but it is home) If you head east from there you’ll hit a nice road that follows the Keihan line all the way to Neyagawa-shi station. It is filled with beautiful flowers all along it during the spring and summer. Once you hit the station there’s a huge grocery store that carries imported and rare snacks. Of course these snacks would be perfect to enjoy in a beautiful park!

Uchiagegawachisui Park!

If you keep heading about 10 minutes east of the park, you’ll see this small park on a hill near the main road. At first it doesn’t look like much, but it’s turned into my favourite park. It’s quite beautiful all year round. Cherry Blossoms in the spring, blossoming flowers and wildlife in summer and of course colourful falling leaves in fall. It’s a great place to have a picnic or just take a break from the crazy city life.

Shopping!

After a nice couple hours relaxing in the park I’m usually ready to do some shopping ( Or in my case just window shopping). Although Neyagawa is small, it has a lot to offer in terms of shopping. Right around the corner from Uhiagegawachisui park there’s a pretty decent sized Viva Mall! It’s got an arcade, a few cafes and even a huge pet store. If you like shopping for vintage closes there’s three great shops only a block or two away, I highly recommend you check them out!

If you ever have some free time and want to get away from the busy city life I recommend you head out east to Kadoma and Neyagawa area. There’s a lot of hidden gems! Let me know of any fun spots you’ve found in Osaka, I’d love to hear!
