Hey everyone. My name is Adam. I’m from Leeds in the UK. Leeds is a big city and is famous for its university and beer brewing (I love beer). I have been interested in Japanese culture ever since I was a Kindergarten student. One day I quit my job as a carpenter and decided to study Japanese in the hope of moving here one day. I am currently living in Kyoto prefecture in a quiet city close to nature. In my free time I enjoy reading books, listening to music and playing video games from time to time. My favorite genre is fantasy. Books like the Lord of the rings and video games such as Final fantasy are my go to choices. For music, I tend to lean to the heavier stuff like hardcore metal but growing up in high school I listened to punk bands such as Blink 182. I also enjoy hiking and going to restaurants. Japanese food is another hobby of mine. There is so much variety. I love the atmosphere of a good Izakaya. Living in Japan has its challenges at times but working together with friends and family helps us overcome them. Working and studying at oec is the same.
