My Story(英語)

Hey, how`s it going? I`m Kevin from sunny Los Angeles, California. (USA)

As a young child, I was always fascinated by other cultures. L.A. is a melting pot of eclectic
people from different racial backgrounds co-existing and thriving right next to each other! I
was lucky enough to be exposed to different languages and cultural norms at an early age.
As a result, I developed an insatiable “wanderlust”.

In December of 2016, I visited Tokyo for the first time. I worked as a cocktail bartender for
almost a decade in my hometown and developed an interest for Japanese bartending. I
went to Ginza to visit a famous bartender by the name of `Kazuo Ueda`. He was one of the
pioneers of the `Japanese Hard Shake`, a style of shaking a cocktail that was so graceful
and mesmerizing. After countless hours of binging Youtube videos of him and his bar
`Tender Bar`, I bought a plane ticket. I spent three weeks living in Shibuya, one of the
hottest nightlife districts in Tokyo, experiencing everything Japan had to offer. I even took a
drive to Nikko, Tochigi, where I was able to sit in an outdoor `onsen` while it snowed. This
was an unforgettable experience and it solidified my love for Japan!

I moved to Osaka in May of 2018 and hoped to study Japanese seriously and explore
Kobe, Kyoto, and Nara. I fell in love with Kansai`s rich history and architecture. On every
block I explored, there were mind-blowing local restaurants and interesting people to talk
to. I wake up every day and I feel blessed and grateful to be able to experience living in
Japan and share my love for language with others.

In my free time, I spend most of my time exercising. Most people say i`m kind of a health
nut. I`m really into lifting weights, bouldering, kickboxing, and board sports (surfing,
snowboarding). I also love traveling, self-development, and learning about culture. If i`m
not teaching, i`m probably moving my body and working up a good sweat somewhere!

I`m extremely optimistic and I love meeting new people. If you see me in the lobby, please
don`t be shy! Let`s have a chat!
I hope to meet you soon.
